The iconic opening sequence of the Eagle Rock music film clip with Ross Wilson walking into the takeaway was filmed at 293 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne. Until 2013, the venue still operated as a fish and chip shop. Can you see the distinctively shaped wooden door handle in the photos below?Chris Löfvén who shot the video had scouted for similar establishments in Balaclava and St Kilda near where he lived but none had a jukebox. The film’s finale would take place closer to Löfvén’s home, where Ross Wilson, Ross Hannaford, Wayne Duncan and drummer Gary Young bolt across from 'Aussie Burgers' in The Upper Esplanade, St Kilda (opposite Luna Park) to jump in Duncan’s FJ Holden one final time to drive off towards the famous Esplanade Hotel.Come and celebrate Eagle Rock and all of Ross Wilson's over 50 years of hits at the Bridgeway Hotel, Adelaide on Saturday 20th April 2024.
